Hello! A warm welcome to BLACS art, where miniature wool dogs are created.  I’m Nikoru Nicole, you can call me Nicole.  I’m a wool/fiber artist and I specialist in needle felted miniature dogs.  I am based in Singapore.

I love handicraft and needle felting is one of the craft that I love to do and it soon turned from a sometime hobby into a full blown passions.  As I want to bring something that reminds me of my dogs at work or wherever I am travelling, then I started of with creating felted by using my dogs as a model into miniature, this is my perfect option that I can always remember them.  Absolutely, they have brought me to the art of making miniatures for display and memorial pieces, that is how BLACS art was born and it’s not surprising that all my works have 4-legged paws.  You could say it’s taken over half of my life!   

I always spend my hours to study all the dog photos provided by customer. There is nothing about every of them that I don’t absorb during the making process and I become very familiar with them. I try to capture that character in the felted version.  For at least a few days, the dog that I am working on has becomes very much a part of my life! Each miniature of dogs or pets are custom-made to represent your special animal, with their unique face and pose.

The best I could, I try to recreate a miniature replica of your dog.  It may be a new dog in your life, an older dog you have loved for many years, or a beloved dog that has passed away.  My sculptures celebrate the life of pets and the wonderful relationship and companionship they offer us.  These memorials are very special to me, as they are for my customers.

It may take up more to 20 hours, creating a needle felting dogs or others adorable pets. A labor of love is indeed. And one of the best parts of my job is meeting fellow dog lovers/pet lovers from all over the world and brings my art craft to all over the world. ♥

All my creations here are purely freehand, 100% handmade custom made with love and passion, thus each and every one of them are very unique. Its take a lot of patience and time consuming and hours of “Needling” to create the arts and detailed sculpture but end of the day, the result come out are very importantly to me. Most importantly are all the adorable fur-kids; their paw-rents who engaged me making them happy and satisfied.
